Stocks and funds
Stock and fund accounts
If you want to insert a transaction of stock (or fund) purchase you can do this in Monex only in a account of type Stock or Fund.
The transaction value doesn't necessary reflect the value of the purchased stock (quantity * price).
This is due to the fact that most purchases include fees or other additional costs, which can be directly debited.
Entering a new purchase with 1000EUR spend, but purchased only stock worth 990EUR.
Stock rates
If a entered stock has no exchange rate, then all values which depend on the exchange rate are colored red.

| Adding a new exchange rate |
According to the entered exchange rates the current stock value (profit) is calculated.
In our case we have started with a 110 rate, and are now in profit with a 120 rate.
Monex calculates:
- Total value as Quantity * Current exchange rate : Current value = 9 * 120 = 1080
- Profit as Current value - Invested value : Profit = 1080 - 1000 = 80
- Growth in % as the Invested to Current value ratio : Growth = (1080 / 1000) - 1 * 100 = 8%
- Yearly interest rate as Growth calculated to a calendar year
In our case we have a yearly interest rate of: 730%,
which is calculated from the difference in dates: 15.8 -> 19.8 (4 days - day of investment -> current day),
and the growth 8%
Which means there was a raise of 8% points in 4 days, meaning 8 / 4 = 2% a day,
If we multiply this with 365 (days in year) we get 730%.
The yearly interest rate can therefore be used to compare different investments.
Of course the older the investment the more accurate the calculated value.

Selling and closing investment transactions
A stock or fund purchase can have one or more sell transactions.
A sell transaction can only be made from a stock / fund account to a non stock / fund account.
Same as in purchase, the transaction value doesn't necessary reflect the value of the sold stock (quantity * price).

| Sold some stock, but rest stil open. |
In our case we have sold 4 of 9, for 450EUR.
Monex now calculates following group values:
- Open invested amount : Amount = 1000 - 450 = 550
- Total value as Quantity * Current exchange rate : Current value = 5 * 120 = 600
- Profit:
Sell profit: 5.56EUR, 1000 * (4 / 9) - 450 = 5.56
Open profit: Current value - Invested value : Profit = 600 - 550 = 50
Total profit in brackets: Sell profit + open profit : 5.56 + 50 = 55.56 - Growth:
Sell growth: Invested to Sold value ration - 450 / (1000 * (4 / 9)) - 1 * 100 = 1.25%
Open growth: Invested to Current value ratio - Growth = (550 / 600) - 1 * 100 = 8.33% - Yearly interest rate:
Sell yearly interest rate (9 days from purchase to sell date): (365 / 9) * 1.25 = 50.69%
Open yearly interest rate (9 days): (365 / 9) * 8.33 = 337.96%
Closing
A investment transaction is closed when all units are sold.
For closed transactions Monex only calculates the total profit made, growth and yearly interest rate.
